Uniteer is a mobile application designed for managing youth activities and volunteering in the events happening in British Columbia for kids. This application allows volunteer and activity organizations to manage operations more efficiently. It also enables parents or guardians of teenagers to communicate directly with the organizations, allowing them to be more involved and better informed about their children’s activities and plans.

Background

Uniteer is the fourth term capstone project accomplished while studying at Langara College. Considering the course constraints we were required to build a mobile driven application that is useful for the people in certain way. So we decided to make an app that helps parents and activity organizers to manage the events for children and keep track of their progress. Uniteer is an application where parents can track their kid’s progress and ensure their safety. Also they can register for events for their children. On the other side, this app helps activity organizers to manage the events more efficiently.

My role in the team

The team consist of 7 students, 4 designers and 3 developers. I was the UI/UX designer. As a designer, I researched the market, designed the user flow, one of the persona, wireframes for login/sign Up screens, notifications, account page and add events page . I also did the UI mockups for the login/ sign up screens, notofications, account page and manage events and add events page.

UI and Branding

As a UI designer, I created the UI kit, the infographic used on different page, as well as participating in visualizing the data sets. I also designed the mock-ups for the login/ sign up screens, notifications, account page and manage events and add events page.

The logo was inspired by the design a bird which gives the feel of a freedom, joy and fun for the children. We want the children to have fun while participating in the events and on other side parents can keep track of their activities without any kind of fear. Therefore, we choose the logo of a bird for our app
