GasNGo is a mobile application designed to find the cheap gas available to users nearby to their locations. Also this app offers users to find auto-mobile services near them so people can find the stations which offer auto-mobile services at convenient rates. The third feature of this application allow them to find EV gas stations near to their location as in British Columbia their are few EV charging stations available so people have to travel a long way therefore we decided to make it easier for people with EV to find available charging stations near them.

Background

GasNGo is the first term project accomplished while studying at Langara College. Considering the course constraints we were required to build a mobile driven application that is useful for the people in certain way. So we decided to make an app that helps residents of British Columbia to find cheap gases near them. Also this application helps people to find cheap auto mobile service stations nearby their location to get their vehicles repaired. On the other hand this application also allow people to locate convenient EV charging stations. This was the first app of our course so we were instructed to design the app fully but we were not allowed to code it.

My role in the team

The team consist of 4 students, consisting of all designers. I was the UI designer. As a designer, I researched the market, designed the user flow, one of the persona, wireframes for homepage, automobile page, search page and gas station page . I also did the UI mockups for the homepage, gas station page, map pages and the EV charging page of the app.

UI and Branding

As a UI designer, I created the UI kit, the infographic used on different page, as well as participating in visualizing the data sets. I also designed the mock-ups for the homepage, gas station page, map pages and the EV charging page of the app

The logo was inspired by the app name itself and we tried to keep the logo simple and elegant therefore we integrated the logo with different typeface so that it could match the vibe of the app.
